Weather – Climate
The climate of Greece is temperate Mediterranean, with mild, wet winters, warm and dry summers and sunshine during most of the days throughout the year. The coldest months are January and February, with average temperatures ranging between 0-10 ° C depending on the geographical region. Local time
Greece is in the Eastern European Time Zone and is 2 hours ahead of the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT +2). Daylight saving time is applied on the last Sunday of March and is in force until the last Sunday of October.
Shop Opening Hours
Generally, the opening hours of shops are Monday, Wednesday and Saturday 9:00-15:00, and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9:00 to 14:30 & 17:30 to 21:00. The big shopping centres, shops in central areas and supermarkets are open daily 9:00 to 21:00, except on Saturdays when they close at 20:00.
Electric current
In Greece, the voltage of the power supply is 220V (50 Hz). Devices from abroad can function normally using special adapters and transformers.
Τipping
Service is included in the bills of restaurants and bars. However, when the customer is satisfied with the services, it is usual to give the 10% of the total bill as a tip.
