Beyond its natural beauty and imposing landscape, Mount Olympus is a spiritual haven, ideal for calming the inner self and for drawing the faithful closer to divinity. This sense of spirituality and serenity is emanating from the Cave of Agios Dionysios of Olympus. This is where Agios Dionysios lived as a hermit ever since his arrival at the mountain of myth in 1542. The Holy Cave, as it’s widely known, is located on the Litochoro-Prionia route, a small distance from the old and still visitable monastery, which was founded by the Saint himself. It is easily accessible by foot and open to the public. Attended every year by thousands of pilgrims, the Holy Cave, with a beautiful chapel within its cradle, is one of the most distinctive sites of Olympus.
