Even the ancient Greek Gods were astounded by its beauty. Between Mount Olympus and Kissavos, with River Pinios flowing through, the 10-km long Valley of Tempi is an ode to the beauty of Mediterranean nature and it is easily accessible by car. Walking down the footbridge you will reach the waters of Pinios River, just before it flows into the Aegean Sea. The shady riverside forest is full of plane, elm and willow trees, with beautiful flowers blooming amidst the canyon’s rocks, where rare bird species find refugee in the dense vegetation. There is also the chapel of Agia Paraskevi and the cave with the holly water spring, both of which render Tempi a popular destination for religious pilgrimage.
