Moderate in difficulty, the 4.500m trekking-route lasts approximately 3 hours. The area of Prionia is located at an altitude of 1.100m, while the refuge is clinging over 2.040m. This is Olympus’ most popular hiking trail and part of the E4 international hiking path. Very well-preserved, it is woodland on its greatest part, stocked with pine, oak and chestnut trees.
Well-equipped, the “Spilios Agapitos” Refuge is able to cover all basic needs. It accommodates up to 110 hikers, has cooking facilities, lavatories and WiFi connection. It is open daily from mid-May up until the end of October. Making a reservation is necessary. Built at a prominent position at the edge of the rock, the refuge offers riveting views to the mountain of Gods and an amazing sunrise experience.
