Route length 5km, moderate to high difficulty level, duration approximately 3 hours.
This is the shortest and, consequently, the fastest way to Olympus’ grand peak, as it passes by the Christaki Emergency Refuge (2.550m.), which is accessible by car (advisable a 4X4 jeep).
Setting off from the refuge, the path ascends to Skolio and reaches the peak of Skala (2.866m.) Though surrounded by alpine nature where vegetation is scarce, the path offers breathtaking views, all the way down to the sea. The difficult part of the hike is just ahead with red marks on the rocks leading to the highest peak of the mountain of Gods, Mytikas, at an altitude of 2918m.
