The two hiking trails leading to Mytikas, Olympus’ highest peak, set off from the Spilios Agapitos Mountain Refuge. They have a varying level of difficulty.
1st: Spilios Agapitos Refuge – Skala – Mytikas: route length 3K, moderate difficulty, approximate duration 3 hours. Setting off from Spilios Agapitos Refuge, (2.040m. altitude), the E4 hiking trail is an uphill hike. Passing the crossroads in Zonaria and taking the path leading to Stavraities and Agios Antonios, it ends up in Skala (2.866m. altitude). Abrupt changes in weather conditions shall be expected and special equipment might be essential. The most demanding part of the hike is ahead. Red marks on the rocks show the way to Mytikas, the Peak of the Gods, at an altitude of over 2918m.
2nd: Spilios Agapitos Refuge – Louki – Mytikas: route length 2,9K, demanding and at some points dangerous, approximate duration 3 hours. Following the same trail as above, it changes course at 2.480m when at the crossroads in Zonaria, it takes the uphill path on the right, which crosses “Louki” to reach Mytikas.
